Simple Pongal Recipe


Ingredients
1 Cup Rice
1 Cup Moong Dal
7 cups of Water
2 Spoon Ghee
1 or 2 Green Chilli
1/2 tsp Geera
1/2 tsp Pepper Powder(Not Finely Powdered)
1cm Ginger Cut into small pieces
1/4 tsp termeric powder.

Cooking Method
  • Mix Rice and Moong dal.wash and cook (Overcook them).
  • Heat Ghee in another vessel or kadai.
  • Put Geera, Ginger pieces, Green chilli,pepper powder,termeric powder.
  • Now off the heat pour this into overcooked rice and dal.
  • mix it well and serve hot with some more Ghee.
Ginger and Ghee is very important in this recipe. More the Ghee better the taste.
